What the work actually involves

You are producing training data for reasoning, not reviewing finished text. A typical task hands you a question — read a monthly sales table and identify which location grew most, or resolve a constrained delivery-route puzzle — and asks you to write the correct answer plus an explanation clear enough that a model can learn the method from it. Other tasks run the other way: you author the scenario yourself, aiming at the kind of question a strong model is likely to get subtly wrong, then document the correct chain of reasoning. Some work is Finnish-language, some English; you should expect to move between them and to notice when a reasoning failure is really a language failure.

The judgment being trained is the analyst's instinct to interrogate the question before answering it. The sales-growth example is deliberately underspecified — which window, whether to discount a volatile launch month, absolute versus percentage growth — and a good response names the ambiguity rather than quietly picking one reading. Turing's own prompt hints point at exactly this.

What the screen looks for

  • Genuine Finnish fluency alongside working English comprehension, tested by an explicit language proficiency assessment
  • Performance on an automated analytical challenge, sent before any human conversation
  • A business writing assessment in English — structure, concision, and explanation quality, not flourish
  • Evidence of professional writing or analysis history: business analyst, research analyst, journalist, technical writer, editor, translator
  • Comfort with spreadsheets, percentages, and basic data interpretation

No specialised domain background is required, and the listing is explicit that candidates without a bachelor's degree can qualify on experience.

Logistics

Fully remote, contractor assignment with no leave or benefits, one-month initial duration with extension tied to performance and project demand. Hours are flexible within a real constraint: 2–5 hours per day must overlap America/Los_Angeles (UTC−8), which for Finland-based candidates means late afternoon into evening. Up to 40 hours per week is preferred. You supply your own desktop or laptop and a reliable connection. Pay is undisclosed in this posting; Turing describes compensation as experience-based, and rates on comparable multilingual reasoning projects vary widely by language and assessment results.
