What the work involves

You record scripted and semi-scripted lines in Castilian Spanish, delivering them with the emotion, pacing and register a brief calls for — a calm assistant read, a frustrated customer, a character with a regional accent, an over-the-top narration. Sessions are usually batched: you receive a script bundle, a direction sheet specifying tone and target length, and a delivery spec (sample rate, bit depth, file naming, one take per file or a single continuous take with slates). Some batches involve dubbing or ADR-style timing against a reference; others involve reading the same line multiple ways so the model sees contrast. Annotation work sits alongside the recording — labelling emotion, speaker turns, disfluencies, or judging whether a synthetic sample sounds natural to a native Spain-Spanish ear.

What the platform screens for

Turing's shortlist is built on verifiable voice acting history and studio access, not on enthusiasm. Expect the screen to press on what you have actually been paid to record, how your room is treated, what interface and mic you use, and how you handle a director's note you disagree with. The second stage is a delivery review: a real sample, judged on noise floor, plosives, consistency across takes, and whether you followed the naming and format spec exactly. Peninsular Spanish is the target variety — Latin American Spanish speakers, however skilled, are not what this brief is for, and the screen will probe your accent and your ability to modulate between neutral Castilian and regional colouring.
