What the work involves
This is a data contribution engagement, not an annotation or review role. You are asked to locate and submit existing personal media: 30 clear selfies and 10 video recordings of yourself, captured on a smartphone or camera at various points over the past five years. Submissions must be unedited — no beauty filters, no AR effects, no retouching, no cropping that obscures the face. If your archive is mostly filtered social media exports, you likely cannot meet the brief.
The twin element is the whole point. Facial recognition systems fail in characteristic ways on near-identical faces, and paired data from twins is comparatively scarce. That makes the pairing a structural requirement rather than a nice-to-have: your sibling must submit their own separate application through the same intake, and neither of you is onboarded until both applications are in.
What the platform screens for
- Whether you actually have the media on hand, in sufficient quantity, spread across the five-year window
- Whether the images and video are unedited and clearly show your face
- Whether your twin is committed and ready to apply independently
- Whether you understand and consent to your biometric data being used for AI training
- Whether you read specifications carefully and can act on resubmission feedback without hand-holding
Logistics
Fully remote and asynchronous, with no fixed hours. Realistically this is a few hours of work: gathering files, verifying they meet the spec, uploading, and responding to any correction requests. Pay is undisclosed on this listing — treat any figure you see quoted elsewhere as unverified and confirm the rate directly before spending time collecting files. micro1 also advertises a $25 referral bonus, which is separate from contribution pay. Read the consent and data-use terms carefully; biometric submissions are not something you can meaningfully retract later.
